ABBA is a Swedish pop quartet formed in Stockholm in 1972 by two married couples — Agnetha Fältskog, Björn Ulvaeus, Benny Andersson, and Anni-Frid Lyngstad — whose name is a palindrome built from their first initials. Their 1974 Eurovision win in Brighton with Waterloo gave Sweden its first ever victory and launched a career of roughly 385 million records sold before their 1982 split — and a 2021 reunion album.
