Kraftwerk

Kraftwerk

DEU

Kraftwerk formed in Düsseldorf in 1970 when Ralf Hütter and Florian Schneider built their legendary Kling Klang studio and pioneered the concept of pure electronic pop. Their 1977 track "Trans-Europe Express" became the foundation of hip-hop and electro when Afrika Bambaataa interpolated it for "Planet Rock" in 1982 — a track that directly birthed Detroit techno and electro-funk. Few bands have shaped more genres without ever playing them.
