ZZ Top

ZZ Top

USA

ZZ Top's drummer is the only member of the band without a beard down to his chest — and his name is Frank Beard. The Houston trio formed in 1969 around guitarist Billy Gibbons, bassist Dusty Hill, and Beard, maintaining the same three-man lineup for over 50 years until Hill's death in 2021. Their 1973 breakthrough "La Grange" was inspired by a real Texas brothel, and 1983's Eliminator made them unlikely MTV superstars.
