Dean Martin
Dean Martin (born Dino Crocetti, 1917) was the King of Cool whose boozy, slurred stage persona was almost entirely an act — that whiskey glass on stage was usually filled with Martinelli's apple juice. In August 1964, his old-fashioned ballad "Everybody Loves Somebody" knocked The Beatles' "A Hard Day's Night" off the Billboard #1 spot. He later sent Elvis a telegram: "If you can't handle the Beatles, I'll do it for you, pally."
