Frank Sinatra
Frank Sinatra (1915–1998) had one of the most dramatic career comebacks in entertainment history. By 1952 his voice was failing, his label dropped him, and his affair with Ava Gardner had wrecked his public image. He fought desperately to get cast as Maggio in From Here to Eternity (1953), won the Best Supporting Actor Oscar — and rebuilt his career into a Capitol Records run that produced "I've Got You Under My Skin" and "My Way."
