Iron Maiden
Iron Maiden formed in East London on Christmas Day, 1975, by bassist Steve Harris and pioneered the New Wave of British Heavy Metal. Their mascot Eddie, a ghoulish figure painted by Derek Riggs, appears on every album cover. Frontman Bruce Dickinson, who joined in 1982, leads a double life — he's also a certified Boeing 747 captain who personally flies the band's tour jet, nicknamed Ed Force One.
