Rolling Stones
The Rolling Stones played their first gig at London's Marquee Club on July 12, 1962 — and somehow they're still playing 60+ years later. They started as a blues cover band until their manager allegedly locked Jagger and Richards in a kitchen and refused to let them out until they wrote an original song. The result, eventually, was "(I Can't Get No) Satisfaction" — their first #1 in 1965, and one of rock's most enduring riffs.
